Map of Travis Heights neighborhood

Bounded by Riverside Dr. to the north, IH-35 to the east, Oltorf St. to the south, and South Congress Ave. to the west, real estate in Travis Heights primarily consists of rented properties with only 30% of the homes occupied by the owner.  In addition, because the residential development began as early as the 1920’s, the homes vary tremendously in size and architectural styles.  Typically, residences in Travis heights are two-bedroom, one-bath bungalows and start as low as $200,000.  Average price is right around $275,000 although there are some mansions that have been priced as high $1,000,000.

Only a five minute drive from downtown and in the midst of the lively South Congress culture, there are countless local amenities and distraction for Travis Heights residents.  Favorite nighttime spots include Guero’s Taco Bar, Doc’s Motor Works Bar and Grille, and the Continental Club, a longstanding music venue.  In addition, the active business community opens its doors every first Thursday of the month staying open until 10pm to host activities and events for everyone to enjoy. For recreation, Travis Heights’ residents are merely walking distance from Little Stacy and Big Stacy Parks as well as Town Lake, just north of the Riverside Dr. border.

Travis Heights is also fortunate to be served by the Austin Independent School District.  Children in the area attend Travis Heights Elementary and Fulmore Middle School before eventually heading to Travis High School to graduate.
